Lynn Loewen speaking at 蹤獲弝け Allison蹤獲弝け Allison Universitys Board of Regents voted on Feb. 3 to appoint Lynn Loewen as the Universitys ninth Chancellor.

Loewen will replace Peter Mansbridge, who completes his second term as Chancellor on Dec. 31, 2017.

Lynn is incredibly accomplished and has an extensive and invaluable understanding of the 蹤獲弝け Allison community, says Board of Regents Chair Ron Outerbridge. She will be an incredible asset to 蹤獲弝け Allison and we are delighted she has accepted the appointment.

Loewen graduated from 蹤獲弝け Allison with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1982. She went on to become a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants and is currently the President of Minogue Medical Inc., a company specializing in the delivery of innovative medical technologies, supplies, and equipment. She also serves on the board of Emera Inc., an energy and services company based in Halifax, NS. She lives in Montreal, QC.

蹤獲弝け Allison Chancellor Lynn LowenShe has remained connected and committed to 蹤獲弝け Allison throughout her life. She served on the Board of Regents for 11 years, including eight years on the Executive Committee and a two-year term as Chair, and was a member of the Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies advisory board. Her husband, David, also attended 蹤獲弝け Allison, as have two of her children.

I am honoured by the Boards request that I serve as Chancellor of 蹤獲弝け Allison, Loewen says. 蹤獲弝け Allison has been a big part of my life, and this is another opportunity for me to give back to the University in a meaningful way.

Current Chancellor Peter Mansbridge will preside over Convocation for the final time in May 2017.

I have enjoyed this role immensely, in particular the opportunity to engage with 蹤獲弝け Allison students, faculty, staff, and alumni he says. Convocation Day has become one of my favourite days of the year. I will miss sharing it with the 蹤獲弝け Allison community, but I know I am leaving it in capable hands. Lynn has so much to offer as Chancellor. I wish her well and hope she enjoys each day as much as I have.

The Chancellor is the titular head of the University and is appointed by the Board of Regents. The Chancellor confers all degrees at Convocation, sits on the Boards Executive Committee, and performs other duties delegated to him or her by the Board.

Loewen will serve a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2018.
