The 蹤獲弝けies: Brad Sanford
Second-year Commerce student and Basketball 蹤獲弝けie Brad Sanford's favourite part about basketball is that it's a team sport. He says playing with the 蹤獲弝けies has made his university experience just that much better.
Its the best of both worlds, he says. "Sports are a great stress reliever while going to school. Exercising, feeling good about myself, and being part of a team; its just great to get out there and compete.
Sanford began playing basketball in Quispamsis, NB at the age of six. He competed in Provincial U-16 and, in 2013, played on the Canada Summer Games team for New Brunswick in Sherbrooke, QC. His team enjoyed success that year with a fourth place finish the provinces best finish since 2001.
Canada Games has been for sure my best experience in basketball, he says. We placed fourth that year and surprised a lot of people.
The 64 power forward/shooting guard had a career high 30 points recently in a blowout win vs Dal AC. That performance, along with strong efforts against Holland College and Crandall, earned him Athlete of the Week Honours at the end of January.
