蹤獲弝け Allison Orientation programming prepares new students for life on campus

蹤獲弝け Allison University prepares to welcome approximately 700 new students to campus for the 2023-24 academic year.

Welcome/Move-In Day on Friday, Sept. 1 will serve as the official start to Fall Orientation, which runs from Sept. 16. Throughout the week, students will have the chance to attend information sessions, get to know their peers, and discover academic and extracurricular activities available both on and off campus.

This years Orientation chair is fourth-year environmental studies student Elaine Treash.
My experience as orientation chair has been rewarding, says Treash. Throughout the summer, Ive had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful staff, faculty, and students.

Treash says she looks forward to meeting students and cant wait for the incoming class to join the MtA community.

I'm also fortunate to have an amazing group of student leaders participating in the Orientation committee and crew! My favourite part about preparing for Orientation has been planning a wide variety of fun activities and events for everyone to enjoy.

International Orientation kicks off on Monday, Aug. 28 and will run until Aug. 31, giving international students the opportunity to get settled on campus before University Orientation begins.

The Meighen Centre Orientation is also held Aug. 2931, prior to University Orientation, to allow students living with disabilities or medical conditions extra time and resources to transition to university life.

Danai B矇langer, Director of Student Experience, says she looks forward to Orientation and welcoming students back to campus.

Were bringing back parent orientation. This is a great opportunity for parents to interact with university staff and to learn more about how they can support their student through their 蹤獲弝け A journey.

This years Orientation is placing more emphasis on topics such as consent, education, and harms reduction education. We want to ensure students have the tools and resources they need to be safe while theyre here, how to self-advocate, but also how to support their friends.

B矇langer says that the event would not be possible without help from volunteers.

We have about 200 students who have come back to campus early, giving up part of their summer. I really appreciate the enthusiasm that they have year after year, she says. Our Orientation chair Elaine has been amazing, and all the Orientation chairs have done an amazing job recruiting these student volunteers and to help us welcome students back to campus.

Visit the Fall Orientation 2023 website for the full schedule and be sure to follow along on the Orientation committees Instagram at and 蹤獲弝け Allisons Instagram at .

Please note, masks will not be required on campus during the fall term. We continue to be a mask-friendly campus and support everyone who wishes to wear one in any situation.
